Family background (how they met, what do they do for living, why they decided to adopt, what languages do they speak etc., give as much or little detail as you want):
Natalia is a ballet dancer and James used to be her instructor. James was in an accident a number of years ago and now has a prosthetic arm so he no longer teaches. Now, he works an office job at a friend's company and has surprised himself with how much he doesn't mind it. Natalia knows that now that she's in her early 30s that her ballet career can't realistically go on much longer and they want to have a family soon. Because Natalia can't have children, they've decided they will adopt. Natalia and James both speak English and Russian.

If international, where from around the world do they want to adopt?:
Because they speak Russian and are somewhat familiar with Ukrainian and know the ways and customs of most Slavic countries, they would prefer to adopt children from this area of the world. (They don't have to speak Russian necessarily.)
Are they willing to adopt children with disabilities?:
They do not feel they are equipped to handle children with severe illnesses such as mentally challenged children, but because James has a disability, they are more than prepared to take in children who may deal with similar situations. Also, Natalia's best friend is deaf and she knows quite a bit of sign language so a deaf child wouldn't be an issue either. They are also able to care for mild disabilities like learning disabilities and speech impediments.
James and Natalia have experience with dealing with PTSD so children coming from traumatic situations would be fine as well as they are equipped to handle it.
Are they willing to adopt children that were raised in different religion?:
They are not religious and do not think a very religious child would fit well in their family.
Are they willing to adopt children who do not speak their language?:
Yes, they are open to learning new languages for the sake of a child.
Do they plan to add any more biological children to their family?:
No.

Natalia has a pet cat and James has a pet aardvark. Children will need to not have extreme pet allergies.
