They later found themselves in the same city and started dating. A year later, they got married and moved to Savannah to start their lives together. They are not able to conceive children, so they decided to adopt instead. They want to have a large family. Amanda works as a translator and is fluent in Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Russian, French, and Spanish. Joe is a pastor and is also fluent in Spanish--the couple plan to raise their children to be bilingual.
