Helena and Susanna chose to adopt a child from South Korea. After doing paperwork and waiting for a few months, Helena went to Seoul alone (Susanna had to stay in Madison to work), and came back a week later with a little girl. They named her Joheved Maria to reflect both their cultures (Jewish and Brazilian). Soon after she arrived, Joheved had to be hospitalized for dehydration, but she is recovering.
