Ken and Ana-Sofia adopted Asher through the foster care system. He came to them with the name Cashtyn, which was not to the West's taste, but Ken and Ana-Sofia wanted to make Cashtyn's transition to their family as easy as possible. They chose the name Asher because of its phonetic similarity to Cashtyn, as well as for its meaning: blessed. Maximiliano is Ana-Sofia's father's name, and he was thrilled to be so honored as to have his name passed down to his new grandson.
