Soon after Lucy's 1st birthday, Warren got some news. He was to go out in war for a year. Jill was very upset about not seeing her husband for a year, and worrying if he'd be okay. Jill told Warren she didn't want herself, or their kids to have an entire year with out him. Warren reassured her that he'd be back before they knew it, and everything will be okay. For the few days before Warren left, him, Jill, Emily, and Lucy spent all of their time together.
