When her first husband divorced her after only a few months of marriage, Faith was devastated. She had loved Henry with all of her heart and even though she knew he was seeing another woman, couldn't stop loving him. After divorcing Faith, Henry had married his new girlfriend within three months. Faith kept to herself a lot during those months. So, when Matt Thoresen proposed to her without even a first date, she was completely surprised. However, Faith and Matt had known each other since childhood. After Faith consented to marry him, Matt confessed that he had always had a crush on Faith and had loved her for a long time. Faith was touched by his sentiment. She and Matt were wed nearly a year and a half since Henry and Faith had divorced.
After a year, Faith had a miscarriage. She and Matt were quite upset that they lost their first baby. After trying again for a few months, they decided to let nature take its course and begin the process of adoption instead. They flew through the requirements for being adoptive parents and were surprised when, after only eight months, they had adopted a little girl from Macedonia. Iskra Marija was born to a single mother who could not take care of her. She was placed into a Macedonian orphanage. Matt and Faith were very lucky to be able to adopt so quickly. They brought Iskra home and have enjoyed having their dark-haired little princess. Because most of their friends and neighbors stumbled over the name Iskra, Matt gave her the nickname Izzy and it has stuck so far.
