This year tragedy hit Great Britain as war was declared against a foreign superpower. Troops were needed like never before and all young men were recruited to join the army. Naturally, this meant that Wyatt was forced to enlist, something he dreaded doing. Leaving behing Gracie and their adopted son William broke Wyatt's heart but they knew that he had no other choice. Alongside his friends and work colleagues, Wyatt was sent to the front. Despearate for information on when he would return, Gracie was informed by the War Office that they didn't think the war would end in under three years. Heartbroken, Gracie and the women of Britain, are working hard to pick up their lives but taking care of William and Lennon without the support of her husband is proving hard and Gracie can never stop her thoughts from wandering to Wyatt, all those miles away.
