I am no longer Temperance Elizabeth James. Against my father's wishes, Nathaniel and I have stolen away to Boston and eloped. I know my father will be furious when he wakes up my brothers and sisters tomorrow morning for chores and finds I am not there, but I'm so happy at being Mrs. Nathaniel Wagoner that can't bring myself to care. Nathaniel says we are going to go west and, as I write this, he is out scouring the city for a wagon caravan that will take us. I am scared, but so excited and happy, as well.
