Newly married, Philip and I are near setting off from our home in Salem, MA. I fear leaving my family behind, but times are hard and the family general store that Philip inherited after his father's death hasn't been as successful as it should, so now we are seeking a new life out west. We will be accompanied by five other families, one of them our neighbors.
Philip says that we will be able to own a farm wherever it is that we settle, as I've always dreamed, and good heavens am I excited.. if only for that.
