If you had boy/girl twins right now...
What would you name them?
Because I'm in a quirky mood today, I choose Hollis & Roscoe. I'm not sure about mns at the moment so I'll have to get back to you on that one. Do you think Hollis & Roscoe would be a good sibset?

Right at this moment? Probably Jett Steven Archer and Ruby-Beth Victoria (who I would affectionately call "BB" :-) ).
Difficult choice though - I can tell you for sure that if I had twin girls, they would be Ruby-Beth Victoria and Holly Natasha Pearl. I just think Ruby and Holly make such a sweet sibset!

Right this minute...
I name them Cornelius Jude (Neil) and Eleanora Saffronie (Nora). Shoot, their nns are the name initial! Doggone it, anyway. I officially change my ficticious Eleanora's nn to Ellen. :o) And, oh, yes, I do think that Hollis & Roscoe make a good sibset, although Hollis seems more masculine to me. Of course, I can always call her Holli. ;o)

I've been thinking about this lately. It seems when I think of names I'd really use IRL, I stay pretty safe. :-/ Maybe one day I'll get braver, lol. But for now, I'd name them....
Nora Candis & Miles Franklin
Nora & Miles are just names I love (Nora for a while, Miles more recently). Candis is my sister's name and Franklin is my father's name, and I want to honor both of them.

I'm not sure exactly where I heard it from first, but I'm pretty sure it was from another post on this board from a year or two back. I just love the spelling and sound.
As far as I've been able to find it's French for "solemn" and is used as a term in music to denote the mood or tone of a piece.

About Falcon
I said I'd get back to you about that. It has really captured my imagination! Hawking is one of my all-time favorites, for Stephen Hawking, but also because it sounds so... so... hot, kwim? Falcon is striking me the same way. *furiously scribbling stolen idea*
Looking at my own list of faves, I came up with these combos:
Mojave Falcon
Dominic Falcon (two short Os appeal to me)
Rio Falcon
Shane Falcon
Zane Falcon (Shane and Zane are so cowboy to me, I think they go well with Falcon - and Hawking)
Also, I suck at HTML and can't make the proper accent mark, but I wanted to point out another way to pronounce Falcon, and that is falCONE, the Spanish way (I think it's the Spanish pronunciation, anyway). WDYT of these, pronounced falCONE:
Santiago Falcon
Raphael Falcon
Rio Falcon (same combo but different pronunciation this time)
Mojave Falcon (ditto)
The only one of my faves that I would use as a mn with Falcon is Ridge, in Falcon Ridge. Too over the top for you? I like it a lot myself.
I also thought that perhaps it could be unisex; what do you think of Shenandoah Falcon (FALcon), or Santana Falcon (falCONE)? I like the latter more.

I'm glad someone really likes Falcon as much as I do :) I prefer just plain Hawk or Hawkin, over Hawking however. I've adored Hawk since childhood.
I really like Zane Falcon! It's pretty cool and it's a family name, so it makes it so much better for me. I also really like Raphael Falcon too.
I haven't found any names that go nicely with Falcon as a first name I like. I might like something like Falcon Alexandre or Falcon Maximus or something. But I think it might be "safer" to use Falcon as middle name. If he decided he liked it better as first name, then he can always change it himself.
Falcon might be cool for a girl too, I never really thought about it. I already have a bunch of bird names for girls that I like too: Wren, Raven, Swan, Sparrow, Starling. But Elizabeth Falcon or Alexandria Falcon really grab my attention now that I think about it.
Thanks!

As Arcadia, Eden and others can also confirm
Jayne is now a guy's name! *LOL* He's a character on the defunct but still much-beloved series Firefly. And an extremely masculine one, at that! (Played by Adam Baldwin - so hot!)
Seriously, though, I really do like the name Jane. The extra Y seems like gilding the lily to me.

Sahara and Mojave: feedback?
I'm serious. Sahara (G) and Mojave (B), called Sara and Mo. See, I've wanted these twins for fifteen years. That's how long I've been married to Mr. Sands. Yes! Sahara and Mojave Sands! There is no dissuading me! *LOL*
I have several sets of fn's that I haven't fleshed out into combos; these sets have been on my mind for a long, long time just because I think they match so well.
Rhiannon and Riordan
Scarlett and Indigo
Socorro and Sirocco
Sophia and Sabio
Claire and Connor
But just with this question, I have decided to mix and match some of my favorite combos (full-fledged combos, fully realized each on its own but not put into sets before) just to see how they'd sound together. WDYT? Try saying the two fn's of each together before you decide, okay?
Jedidiah Hawking and Mercy Nightingale (Jed and Mercy)
Sawyer Benedict and Lorelei Leilani
Owen Brody and Veronica Bronte
Edward Oliver and Verity Arabella (nn's Eddo and Very / Very Belle)
Connor Riordan and Tatiana Claire (inspired by my Claire and Connor combo, but in such form as each exists on my fave combos list)

I like Sahara but probably on a boy.
Your others:
Jedidiah Hawking and Mercy Nightingale - Nice, not keen on Mercy but they others are nice
Sawyer Benedict and Lorelei Leilani - Boy combo is awesome, but Lorelei Leilani looks like the same two names!
Owen Brody and Veronica Bronte - Love Owen Brody! Veronic Bronte is nice too but i prefer Bronte on a boy
Edward Oliver and Verity Arabella - Love it
Connor Riordan and Tatiana Claire - Nice! I love the boy combo!
I hate most girls names so dont take offense! lol, i have no taste

Yeah, im gettin really obsessed with my soccer, so i thought it was time to change it, it took me forever to figure out which of my 'team' i should use. I was going to use my all time favorite player Luis Figo (Portugal) but i have my new favorite, Zlatan Ibrahimovic (sweden).
I played soccer for 6+ years so i've always been obsessed, but i need to calm myself down cause when Australia played the netherlands in a friendly (at 11 at night) i couldnt get to sleep afterwards :)

I'd rather see Kalahari than Mojave. But then, Mojave's hard to say, lol. :) And Sahara and Kalahari are both on the same continent. But on the other hand, Sahara and Mojave match better. In any case, I like the idea of Sahara Sands--I think it has a very melifluous sound.
Rhiannon and Riordan~ The fact that I don't like either one leads me to say no, hehe.
Scarlett and Indigo~ If they're both girls, yeah. I can't see Indigo as particularly masculine, being a devotee of Amy Ray and Emily Saliers of the Indigo Girls. :D
Socorro and Sirocco~ *attempts to surreptitiously sneak in a C*
Sophia and Sabio~ Sabio looks a bit too much like Fabio for me--and I prefer the real deal or none at all. ;) I love Fabio, ha.
Claire and Connor~ Clare and Conor would appeal far more to me--funny how taking away a letter makes me like a name.
Of the combo-y twins, Jed and Mercy appeal most to me, and after them, Eddo and Very Belle. :)

Mojave's not hard to say, you silly! moHAHvay. Easy! Kalahari sounds too much like Matahari to me, which therefore in my arbitrary logic makes Kalahari feminine, but I'm trying to name the boy with this one. So Mojave it is!
And given my own argument here, I understand how you feel about Indigo. Since it's only a word name and therefore assigning either gender is relatively arbitrary, I think of it as masculine mainly because it ends in O! *LOL*
And I know how bad you want the C, but I told you I'm still pronouncing it your way, I just think these spellings are nicer together. They're quite alphabetically well-matched!
As for Sabio, it means wise, at least according to one source I have, so I feel that makes it an excellent match for Sophia.
The letter-droppin thing also makes me laugh, talk about arbitrary! *LOL* No accountn for taste, not anybody's.
I figured you'd like Jed and Mercy. Eddo and Very Belle I just created for Bex two days ago. :D

Well, Mojave looks hard to pronunce, then, and that's good enough for me. ;) Oh, well. The second set can be Kalahari and Gobi or something.
I'm absolutely ridiculous when it comes to spelling changes. I find Eleanor boring and Elinor almost horrific, but I love Elenor and Elenore. Claire seems snotty, but Clare's independent and classy. Connor's trendy, Conor's Oberst. :D And Edmund's a bit poncy and too Narnia (much as I love The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe), but Edmond? Totally hot. And not just because they use The Count of Monte Cristo in V for Vendetta. (...Okay, exactly because of that. But c'mon, Edmond!)
The only thing about Eddo that I dislike is the combo itself. ^^;;; With such a cool nickname, he needs something a bit snazzier than Edward Oliver, especially when sitting next to something as flashy as Verity Arabella. Edgar and Verity feel better to me (or perhaps I just love Edgar far too much), personally, or Edmond and Verity.
...Oh, and it strikes me that Lorelei Leilani sounds like she could be good friends with Roseanne Roseannadanna. I like Lorelei Leilani's repetition, even if I don't actually like Lorelei.

It's reminding me of Goober!
I like Edmund and Edmond, but never Edgar. And I don't care much for any spelling of Eleanor.
Edward Oliver and Verity Arabella were generated from one of Bex's short lists of choices a few days ago. Y'know, she's been posting lists of 15 or so male and female choices and asking us to pick just from those. Edward and Oliver were the only two I really liked from that list, and in order to maximize their impact I created Eddo on the spot. Glad you like it.
As for Roseanne Roseannadanna... Probably no one's even noticed that I didn't, I suppose lots of other people didn't jump on that bandwagon either, but I specifically did not invite list-bashing as so many have lately, because I love my choices too much to submit them to such harsh punishment. And you, my dear, are one of the very main ones I know could cheerfully and wittily shred my beloved names! *mock sob* I was specifically avoiding your razor sharp commentary! *LOL*

Same as usual. :-) I havn't waivered from those two for a while. If I had to pick new ones I'd say Margaret Charmaine and Oscar William.
The abolition of religion as the illusory happiness of the people is the demand for their real happiness.
To call on them to give up their illusions about their condition is to call on them to give up a condition that requires illusions.

I don't particularly love Roscoe or Hollis, but they work together. Agree with everyone so far about Hollis better as male, though, and even for a girl, I think the two sets of double L's is too much paired with Lucille.

I really detest Roscoe, but Hollis is fine--especially with the nn Holly / Hollie. Together, they make a quirky pair.
At this very, very moment, I think I'd have Ray Christian and Evening Mary "Evey." But that's my spur-of-the-moment choice. My traditional answer would be Lyle Stardust and Gilda Rae, but I'm just not feeling them tonight.

ETA: But I might also crack under pressure and go with something delightfully twinny for b/g twins. In which case, they'd either be Benedict and Scholastica or Luke and Leia.
ETA, Part Two: And if I was feeling really wild, they'd be Emmylou Glory and Lemuel...something. I'm not sure what Lem's middle name would be. Maybe Emmylou Glory and Lemuel Ray. But I'd have to be in a really wild mood to use either Emmylou or Glory, let alone the two together.
ETA, Part Three: Wilder yet: Tuesday Afternoon and Thursday Evening. But I'm afraid I'm not that big a Moody Blues fan to risk it.

Yay Benedict! But Scholastica...
was my Catholic school principal, Sister Scholastica, and I just could not use it on a little girl, I just couldn't! *LOL*
Tuesday Afternoon and Thursday Evening! I love it! You kill me!

Like I said, wild. :D
Tuesday would make a cool name for a boy, though. And "Tuesday Afternoon" is one of the best songs ever, mon amie. :)
Thanks for the compliment on Lemuel Ray. It's definitely growing on me, too. I mean, I've liked both names separately, but for some reason, I'd never latched onto Lemuel Ray together before.
Array (loves Lem--and he'd have to be called Lem, is all there is to it ;)

Ooooooh, Benedict and Scholastica. Adorable; not immediately obvious at first, though I'm sure most people would be distracted by the names at first and miss the connection! lol :)

EDIT: I forgot to say that I love the name Roscoe (as seen by my boy combo), I think it's cute and masculine.

Love Constantine
Catharina and Constantine sound great together! (Though, yeah, I get that they would be Nora and Thorsten.)
