Re: Elizabeth
1. I consider it common even if I never see it, because it just has SO MUCH historical presence. I have met more Beths than Lizzies. I think Beth was maybe my generation's favourite short form. 2. I know a young always-Elizabeth, so yes it seems entirely doable3. I like Lizzie, it makes me think of Lizzie Borden4. Ellie is ok, a bit too cutesy for some reason I associate it more with Eleanor than Elizabeth. Liz is fun. It seems so....sardonic.5. That's a good question. I like Eliza and Liza, maybe one of those? Or Betsy, I think Betsy deserves a resurgence. Or maybe go really wild and use Zab.6. It is kind of boring. I know a few but only one goes by Elizabeth.Extra: I wonder how the death of Elizabeth II will affect this name. Will Elizabeth become more popular for a time? Or maybe less? Maybe an entire generation of girls is going to get the middle name Elizabeth the year the queen dies. Or maybe nothing will happen! It will be interesting to see.
