[Opinions] Great-Grandparents
A recent post made me start thinking about ggp, and even of just GP. What were/are yours?
Here were mine:
Maternal Grandparents: Anna & Harry
Maternal Great-Grandparents: Beatrice & Ward (Parents to Anna) Ethel & George (Parents to George)
Paternal Grandparents: Melvin & Elizabeth (Step GM-Ramona)
Paternal Great-Grandparents: Viola & Arthur (Parents to Melvin) No idea on the other two.

My great-grandparents were:
Jan x3
Kacper
Genowefa x2
Helena
Stanisława or Czesława (I can't remember right now which one, but they were sisters and after my actual great-grandma died, the other sister married my great-grandad and became my grandma's step-mom so I always have trouble remembering which was which)
I always thought it was hilarious how many repetitions there were. I remember drawing my family tree in elementary school and putting down Jan three times thinking "wow, it really was like that back then, no variety, no pizazz" xD

Most of my great-grandparents got new names after they immigrated to the United States. Here are some of the names, with original/birth names for the ones I remember:
Etya (unsure of the transliteration), Lillian, Lena (possibly not her birth name), & Bertha
Lev or Leib (possibly Yehuda Leib), Yosef, Herman (not his birth name), & Avrum
I don't really feel comfortable putting my grandparents' names on a public forum along with their parents' names, but here are their Hebrew names (used pretty much just for religious purposes): Tamar, Leah, Yisrael, Ben-Zion

Names in parenthesis are the original birth names before "Americanizing" them once they immigrated to the US.

Paternal Grandparents: Richard Frank (always went by "Rich") & Gail Patricia
Paternal Great-Grandparents: Victor Francis (or maybe it was Victor Frank) & Rose Marie, and Richard Thomas (always went by "Dick") & Theresa (no middle)
Maternal Grandparents: Donald Charles & Wynona Rose (siblings called her "Rose" growing up, and in adulthood she acquired the nickname "Dodie" somehow)
Maternal Great-Grandparents: Isaac Franklin & Ida Virginia, and Silvestro "Sylvester" (no middle) & Ethel Clara
Of these people, only my grandmothers are still alive. Dodie is in fact 99 years old, and only the second youngest of her seven siblings (she was the second oldest) is still alive. My maternal great-grandparents were all gone before I was born, and unfortunately I never knew Donald very well (I believe he went by Don). On the other side of my family, however, Victor was the only one I didn't know (he died when my dad was a kid)! Great-grandpa died when I was four, but I have fond memories of him still, and I was close to both great-grandmothers. Grandpa died in 2019 and I still catch myself missing him.

Wow, Othelia! I wonder if it's the feminine form of Othello?
I have no idea, but I doubt it. Her parents were poor, Swedish farmers from Minnesota.

I think my paternal grandmother's father's name was Stanley, but that might have been her stepfather.
I don't know my paternal grandfather's parents' names.
My maternal grandfather's parents were Eugeniusz and Marianna, who went by Maria. Her parents were Bolesław and Bronisława.
My maternal grandmother's parents were Jan (son of Aleksander and Marianna) and Wanda (daughter of Stanisław and Felicja).

Venturino! Wow.
I think it might have been a nickname for Bonaventura but am not 100% of it.
