Of the two spellings, Isabel is my favorite. But to me, they are both the same name at the end of the day. I'm in the US, I think all versions of this name have been immensely popular. Maybe that's regional? I honestly don't much differentiate between Isabel, Isabelle or Isabella. The ones I know do not get called Izzy very much that I know of.
