I have a strong preference for Isabel. It's very tidy and graceful.
Isabela is nice, but Isabella kinda turns me off. Maybe because of the popularity, that makes it start to seem too sweet/princessy.
Sure it'd sometimes get mistaken for Isabella, but for the most part, that's a big whatever, because they're basically the same name and those mistakes don't generally get recorded as fact. People do that with my name (add an A) and IDCAA.
Yeah, she'd get called Izzy and if she liked that, you couldn't do a thing about it. Too bad ... but IMO IRL there's no reason to give a damn because it's not your name.
