[Opinions] Pretty but bland (m)
I prefer Isabel because it's a bit steelier. It may get mistaken for Isabella, sure, though that name has an extra syllable, so I think it's considerably distinct.Izzy is avoidable if you enforce the avoidance.

Nick names will happen whether parents want them to or not, the parents isn't around them 24/7 presumably their whole childhood to enforce it. Kids give each other nicknames it's a natural occurrence. This is why all common nicknames for any prospective name should be taken into account when picking something.

How on earth are you going to “enforce the avoidance” of Izzy? Are you going to go around to each of her friends and demand they never call her Izzy?

Obviously you can't totally enforce it.......but if someone doesn't want to be called something, surely they can ask people not to call them it...?

I was talking from the viewpoint of the parent (because Perrine herself doesn’t like Izzy). You can’t enforce any nicknames on/off anyone as a parent, it’s not your name. If the person themselves didn’t want to be called Izzy then they could ask others of course.
