Year 1: Caspar 29 Etta 30 Mika 5
Caspar and Etta married significantly later than most of their friends and they realized that they envied their friends who had had children earlier. Even though they want children eventually they decided to adopt and get a head start with an older child. Mika is a little 5 year old from Japan who has already brought so much joy into the house. She has not showed signs of magic yet but she is from a wizarding background and they are sure she has abilities.
Year 2: Caspar 30 Etta 31 Mika 6
Casper lost a couple fingers in an accident at work. Not being able to speak about his job with his wife has always been hard for him and it was even harder for the both of them with the accident and its aftermath. While Caspar is learning how to write and do normal things without his primary fingers, Mika, always resourceful, has managed to get them some hefty reparations. Meanwhile, Mika has been trying to help her dad as much as she can and she even demonstrated her magic for the first time when changing his bandages.
Year 3: Caspar 31 Etta 32 Mika 7 Pearl 0
Caspar is recovering fast, just in time to help out caring for his and Etta’s first biological child. Little Pearl is sweet and the most beautiful person her parents have ever seen. Everyone dotes on her incessantly and Mika has enjoyed little art projects to make her new things. Demonstrating some more magic, she even made a little mobile out of homemade stars.
Year 4: Caspar 32 Etta 33 Mika 8 Pearl 1
Caspar and Etta have loved their house in Hogsmeade but it is very small and they can’t imagine having more than one grown kid in it. They decided to move to Godric’s Hollow, where both children are thriving.

After Caspar’s accident his job has been a major point of contention in the Hurst household and this year he decided to take a job doing paperwork for the Auror office. He’s continuing to work as an Unspeakable until his tenure’s up.

Etta has always wanted to wright a book and this year she finally finished a novel about her time at Hogwart’s. She discussed her lost feeling within her house and the stigma she faced as a Slytherin. It was a bestseller and people can’t believe she finished it while keeping up a good job and raising two kids!
Year 7: Caspar 35 Etta 36 Mika 11 Pearl 4
Etta continues to receive lauds for her amazing novel and she couldn’t be happier. However, she didn't focus on that much over the summer as she focused on spending time with Mika before she left for school. Mika bought a large toad called Humphry for her first year and she spent the summer worried about which house she be sorted into. Now those worries are gone. A proud Hufflepuff, she enjoys Herbology above all other classes and she joined the Magical Creatures club!

Shortly after Mika left for Hogwarts, Etta gave birth to a bouncing baby boy. Little Atlas is a very rambunctious little tyke who’s keeping his parents on their toes. Caspar and Etta are just glad that Mika isn’t around all the time because they don’t think they could handle three kids! Meanwhile, Mika has kept busy herself. She tried out for the Quidditch team and got a place as a beater. She’s made so many great friends and she’s enrolled in extracurriculars three days a week.
Year 9: Caspar 37 Etta 38 Mika 13 Garrick 11 Pearl 6 Atlas 1
Casper and Etta’s good friends Otto and Red are both Aurors and their dangerous jobs have always been a concern for their son. This year his fears were realized when they both died in action, leaving him with the Hursts. Garrick’s had a hard time getting over their deaths but school keeps him distracted for the most part. He was sorted into Slytherin (his dad’s former house) which he was thrilled about and he’s been enjoying Astronomy and knitting club (on the down low) in his free time. He brought his old family owl, Stan, with him and keeps in touch with Caspar and Etta frequently. Meanwhile Mika is enjoying all her new classes (Arithmancy, Care of Magical Creatures, Divination) and continuing to thrive in the school environment.
Year 10: Caspar 38 Etta 39 Mika 14 Garrick 12 Pearl 7 Atlas 2
Pearl has adopted a pet rat, Opal. Caspar and Etta are concerned by her lack of magic so far but think she will probably show magic later. Off at Hogwarts, Garrick followed in Mika’s footsteps and became a Beater for the Slytherin team. The two faced off twice, but they have kept the competitive spirit confined to the pitch.
Year 11: Caspar 39 Etta 40 Mika 15 Garrick 13 Pearl 8 Atlas 3
Etta’s novel won an award for literary merit this year and she and Caspar attended a ceremony honoring her. She was bursting with pride. Meanwhile, although Mika wasn’t made Quidditch captain this year, she was made Prefect, a feat her parents are very proud of. She continues to excel in everything she does and she keeps tabs on Garrick as he navigates his new courses and super intensive Quidditch schedule. (Garrick takes Arithmancy, Care of Magical Creatures, and Muggle Studies.)

This summer the whole family packed up for a trip to Brazil. Caspar and Etta wanted to expose the kids to magical communities elsewhere in the world, especially since Mika decided not to study abroad. Secretly, they also hoped Pearl would show signs of magic. She didn’t and they think she might be a squib. At school, Mika is swamped continuing with all her NEWT subjects, practicing apparition, playing quidditch, and fulfilling her duties as a prefect.
Year 13: Caspar 41 Etta 42 Mika 17 Garrick 15 Pearl 10 Atlas 5
Mika’s a Seventh-Year! She wasn’t made Head Girl (Which honestly wasn’t a disappointment; she had too much stuff to do anyway.) but she continues to be a star playing during Quidditch matches, do prefect duty, participate in extracurriculars, and excel in her classes. Garrick is coasting along. He’s an average student and he’s not a Quidditch star but he has great friends who complete his life. At home, Caspar and Etta decided to move locally. Their new house is closer to Pearl’s muggle friends and she loves the location.

After receiving perfect scores on her NEWTs, Mika decided to take a couple years off to travel the world. She visited Brazil first (her family tagged along) and is now making her way to Japan. Garrick also has the traveling bug. He’s taking all his NEWT subjects while studying abroad at Uagadou in Uganda. Neither of those are the biggest events though. This summer Pearl didn’t receive a letter from Hogwarts. She was devastated and faces many questions of self-worth as she looks forward to her life as a muggle.

It’s been a pretty quiet year. Garrick is off at his seventh year, Mika is off traveling, and Pearl is always out socializing with friends. Finally, Atlas has started showing signs of magic.

This year Caspar and Etta discovered that their wild little Atlas is actually a seer! He suddenly went all still during dinner and made a prediction about black cats in Uganda. At the time Mika was in Uganda traveling and she called home the next day to tell her shocked family that a sorcerer there had turned half the town into black cats! Meanwhile Garrick got a job as a healer at St. Mungo’s and is living in London.
Year 17: Caspar 45 Etta 46 Mika 21 Garrick 19 Pearl 14 Atlas 9
It’s been a quiet year again. Mika has finally settled down as a Potioneer and home Herbologist in Tinworth, Garrick is loving his job and his life in London, Pearl is excelling in art at school, and Atlas is having fun bragging about his Seer abilities to anyone who’ll listen. Caspar and Etta got Pearl a kitten, who she named Snow.
Year 18: Caspar 46 Etta 47 Mika 22 Garrick 20 Pearl 15 Atlas 10
Casper and Etta have missed their home back in Hogsmeade so when they saw it was back on the market they bought it immediately. They’ll continue to live in Godric’s Hollow until Pearl moves out and then they’ll move back to Hogsmeade. Meanwhile, Atlas can’t wait to start school.

Caspar and Etta can’t quite believe their youngest is out of the house! Atlas bought a pet owl, Orion, at Diagon Alley before he left to Hogwarts for the time of his life. He was sorted into Gryffindor and he’s loving potions and music so far. Meanwhile, Etta has started another book and Caspar did some local volunteer work.
Year 20: Caspar 48 Etta 49 Mika 24 Garrick 22 Pearl 17 Atlas 12
Atlas was completely thrilled when he tried out for Seeker on the Quidditch team and got a place! He is loving all his classes and has proved to be extremely adept at magic like his sister was. He has even convinced his friends to become an animagus with him (He has a ways to go yet on that front).
