Form of Peninnah used in the Douay-Rheims Bible (English) as well as the Nova Vulgata (Latin) and some 16th-century editions of the Dutch Bible.Historically, the name has also been used in East Frisia (Germany) and West Frisia (Netherlands). It was likely used as a baptismal name (or otherwise seen as a proper Christian name) for newborn girls with native Frisian names that look quite similar, such as Fenna and Fenneke.
