I know a lot of people don’t really like this name, but I think it’s sooo cute! Also very country to me :) not sure why!
This lady in my town who is an instagram “influencer” named her baby Dolly. You can tell she thinks of her child as just that— a doll for her to dress up and control.
Love this name as a nickname, but I would never use it. When I think of this name, I think of Dolly Parton.
I hate it. It does not age well! I can only see it on kids!
I've always thought this name is childish too. It might be fine to use on a mythical creature in a novel, but sounds weird on a real person. A similar-looking name, Molly, is much better.
It’s cute! It’s old-fashioned in a very good way. It reminds me of some people like the 4th President’s wife (but her name had an “e” in it). Her name was Dolley Madison.
I always get that I don't look like a Dolly... So I ask what does a Dolly look like...and the answer is me!...only because my name is Dolly...I like my name more now than when I was younger... And what's crazy is my daughter's name is Joelene...and it wasn't done on purpose...LOL!
Rather baby-ish.
I'm thinking of naming a daughter Dolly after my favorite band, the Goo Goo Dolls. I like Dolly because it's the biggest derivative from the band into a name that I can think of. I really want to have some kind of tribute to the band, I think that's an interesting namesake.
Sounds like a name a kid would give to their baby doll.
Very, very ditzy-sounding. The association with Dolly Parton also gives it a country vibe, as in "living in the backwoods of Kentucky" kind of vibe.
I used to get beat up because of this name, made me tough. Now the boys are real nice to me. For some reason men like this name... I Don't Know.
Dolly is such a cute name! :3.
This name would be quite pretty if it wasn't a type of toy.
I love Dolly -- not as a given name, but as a nickname for Dorothy! Like Sally, it can be a pleasing surprise.
You'd have to be a very cool person to pull this off, and the name sounds hopelessly old-fashioned, somewhat infantile, and quite ditzy.
Sounds overly-tacky and cheap - thumbs down.
Very great name for a sheep.
Great name for sheep.
Sounds sweet, but too soft. No thanks, I prefer Dolores.
It is the most horrible name for a girl on this earth! Do not name your daughter Dolly. It stinks.
