Meaning & History
Derived from the Kazakh noun қар (qar) meaning "snow", in reference to the snowy peaks of the mountains in southern Kazakhstan. Because of this reference, the name is sometimes also said to mean "the highest" or "summit".Notable Kazakh bearers of this name include the prime minister Asqar Mamın (b. 1965), the deputy prime minister Asqar Jumaǵalıev (b. 1978) and the politician Asqar Myrzahmetov (b. 1962).
