If fine with on a girl, but I'm very obsessive about the idea of nicknames needing a full name. I like it as a nn for Alexandra, but I find it a bit tacky as a full name for some reason.
This said, it's not anywhere as bad as the likes of Timmy or Ricky as full names, and would be ok on an adult.
