Shortly after the birth of the twins, Anton and Gabriel, Stuart found himself being head-hunted for a senior-management position in a rival company. By nature and faithful and reliable man, he argued long and hard with himself about whether or not to apply, and whether the increase in wages would be enough to off-set the guilt of letting down his curret employer. Unfortunately in the end it was not his decision to make.
As it turned out, the birth of the twins had not been as simple and easy as it had first appeared and Anton soon became critically ill and in urgent need of the very best hospital care, which, in a sheer stroke of luck, was located in the part of the country in which Stuart had been offered a new job. Although it is still early days, the baby seems to be responding to treatment, and Stuart's having the time of his life in his new job.

We've had a bit of a tradegy recently. The family next door had a daughter the same age as Mattie, her name was Ellie and they've been inseperable since they were babies. About a month ago Ellie got really sick, and last week she passed away. Turns out Ellie had menengitis...
Telling Mattie that Ellie had died was horrible and Mattie hasn't said a word to anyone since. Ít's breaking our hearts to see our little girl so sad and confused, and it's so hard to know that we can't reach her emotionally right now, she's just really hurting. Seb and I have talked and we've agreed that we're going to get Mattie some counselling to try and help her through this. We just hope it works.

But his plane was canceled and the next flight was only a few days later.

Sara knew that Johan wouldn't just leave her and the kids--especially so soon after Jack's birth. After four days, the police had found a lead on Johan's whereabouts. The next day, they found Johan in a local hospital. He had been carjacked, mugged, and severely beaten. The thieves stole his identification, so no one knew who Johan was. Sara was terrified by what had happened and stayed by Johan's side until he woke up after nine and a half days in a coma. Other than a few memory issues about that night, Johan is now completely recovered. He was able to identify his three attackers and they were quickly apprehended and put behind bars.

After trying unsuccessfully to work through Sofie's affair, Simon and Sofie decided that it was just better for everyone if they divorced. Sofie was in love with Andrew and always had been and Simon finally came to this realization. Sofie remained the sole caregiver of the kids, but they see Simon all the time on weekends and somehow the three have remained civil with each other. Six months later, Sofie married Andrew and immediately found out she was pregnant again! She gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Isabelle Maria. Soon after, Sofie was shocked to discover she had a half-sister from her father's own affair. She was hesitant to meet her, she was 20 and didn't know how she would react. Elena had been told that Evan Bradley was her father her entire life and even had his last name, yet she never had any contact with him. The two girls are not the closest but they have accepted eachother and Sofie's parents have forgiven each other. The kids now refer to her as Aunt Elena and like her a lot. Simon also took a great liking to Elena, even though she was much younger than him, and the two have begun dating. This makes it very awkward for Sofie and the kids to have their father dating their aunt. The Mellon/Trenton family is turning into a soap opera!

Thor's best friend Magnus Finlay had terminal brain cancer. When Thor visited him at the hospital, Magnus asked him to take care of his two sons after he was gone. Magnus had been a single father and had no living relatives who could take care of his sons. Thor promised him that he and Katja would adopt Anton and Alexander. Three weeks later Magnus died from brain cancer. Thor and Katja have now legally adopted Anton and Alexander, but they decided not to change boys' last name. Anton and Alexander love their new parents and sisters but they still miss their beloved father deeply.

A year after Thea's birth, Jakob and Charlotte were delighted to be expecting another daughter. The pregnancy went well but at the birth then new parents had an incredible shock. Charlotte had in actual fact been carrying twins and the Lockhart family welcomed their first baby boy, August William as well as the baby girl, Astrid Tora. Although life is difficult with five young children (and especially three babies) and a new business to run, Jakob and Charlotte have remained the same, strong couple and are as in love as the day they met.
