William is secretly dating someone of the same sex.. Does he tell Eve, or does he decide to break up with the man and continue with Eve? How does she react?
One day, I called Will at his office to see when he'd be home (he was working late, again) since he had left his cell home that day. When the receptionist picked up the phone, she said he left at 5:00, just as any day. Take note that this was at about 8 at night. I started getting really worried. William came through the door at about 11 at night and told me "Sorry I'm so late, busy day at the office", to which I commented "I called your office.", which left him speechless. I heard William mutter "She is really gonna hate me" under his breath. "Why? Why am I going to hate you?", I looked at him and judging by the look on his face, "Who is she? Tell me! Who the hell is she??". William said nothing. "Tell me who the hell the is, Will. Just tell me, for god's sake!". "It's... someone from the office...", William shyly responded. So he was having an affair. Will just didn't seem like the kind of person to go off with another girl, other than me. I sat down and said a little more calmly (while trying to hold back tears), "William, will you just tell me who at the office you've been seeing". He paused before answering. "David". "D..d..David?", I was 100% speechless, but I could see on his face he wasn't lying. David had been William's friend since middle school, they went to college together and both got a job in the same company. We had David, his wife, Jen and his baby daughter, Natalie over for a barbeque every Sunday. I lay down on the couch, trying to think of what to say, how to react. Five minutes passed, neither of us had said a word. "And... how long have you and David been... seeing each other?", I finally asked. Will sat down, "Let me tell you a little story". William preceded to tell me that in their senior year in high school, they had a fling, but by prom, they were just friends again. They dated again, more formally, for the first year of college, but again split up to be just friends. Then William had met me, and fell in love, and not long after, David had found Jen, and done the same. Our weddings were only a month apart from eachother. David and Jen were practically part of our family. But around 6 months ago, David got a job at the company William works for, so they were together all day. And one thing led to another, and it was Senior year of high school again. When he finished telling me, he came over to me, sat on the couch and said, "Evie, I still love you. I love you more than anything. I want you to understand this. I feel terribly about what I've done, going behind your back. I love you Eve. I love you to death." I tryed to say something, but I couldn't. So, I just stood up, got a blanket and some pillows, and set Will up a bed on the couch. I needed time to think. The next day, William came home from work early, and when I arrived home, a couple hours later, I was flabbergasted. He had cooked dinner (and not even microwave dinner either, like he usually would), got at least 50 roses and taken our wedding picture, enlarged it to poster size and written on it "I love you Eve". "I love you too, Will. I really do."
Wow. That was really long.
