Whilst driving home from work, Wyatt spotted a stray dog wandering down the street. It was limping badly and had no identification on it so he decided to bring him home. Gracie was shocked at first but was desperate to help the poor thing and fell in love with him very quickly. They placed missing ads but nobody replied so the couple decided to adopt the dog as their own and named him Lennon after their love of rock music.
Tragically Wyatt's oldest friend, Liam Fletcher, was brutally killed when armed robbers broke into his house. Liam left care of his young son to the couple who had helped him out so much since his wife died. Gracie and Wyatt took the young boy in. They added in their family name (Brooke) to his name but left his father's surname as well and make sure that the young boy will never forget Liam.
