What we think of as Old Testament names are used, or some of them are, by Christians, Muslims and Jews all over the world, regardless of what language they speak. The spelling differs a bit, naturally. And in the case of names like
David, which people like the sound of, they are used also by those with no religious affiliation in all the countries where they are used by the devout. Many people actually choose that kind of name for their children because it travels well.
