Question
For both male and female names: What name is used the most in different languages? I don't mean the popularity, but an example would be the name Alexandra. It's used in German, Scandinavian, Dutch, English, Greek, Portuguese, Romanian, Czech, Hungarian, Slovak, Ancient Greek, and Greek Mythology.

What we think of as Old Testament names are used, or some of them are, by Christians, Muslims and Jews all over the world, regardless of what language they speak. The spelling differs a bit, naturally. And in the case of names like David, which people like the sound of, they are used also by those with no religious affiliation in all the countries where they are used by the devout. Many people actually choose that kind of name for their children because it travels well.

For girls I would say Maria if you count all it's forms(Marie, Mary, etc.).I don't know about boys.

I agree with Maria. For a boy, I would go with Lucas. I think I read on a website once that Lucas was a truly international name used and recognized in many cultures.

Well, in Muslim countries, Muhammed is a very common name.
