May to honor Amy
I might not ever have kids, but if I do, I would find some way to honor my mother, Amy. As a lover of word games, I enjoy the prospect of using an anagram of Amy, so what do you think of May in this context (and in general)? Some combos:May Leonora (also honors my dad, whose middle name is Leo)
May Winifred
May Carlotta
May Rosamund
May Rosalind
May Dorothea/Dorothy
May Isidora
May Cecily
May Celestine
May Clarice / Clarissa
May Cornelia
May Violetta (could also obliquely honor my dad, Valentino)
May Lavinia
May Susanna
May Renata
May Sibylla
May Prunella
May Georgina

I feel like that it could, even if the names aren't related- I actually think the anagram gives it a cool, hidden meaning of its origin story (for a potential daughter's name). On the other hand, I'm not a huge fan of the name May, because it's the name of a spring month. Also, speaking from experience here (my name is William, and I have always gone by "Will"), having a word name can be confusing; the word "may" is used commonly in the English language (in phrases such as "You may go now" or "There may be a party later this evening". I can't express how many times I've tripped myself up when people use the word "will" in a sentence, lol). Despite that, I really enjoy the sound, appearance, and classiness of May- it seems that not many use this name anymore, and it also reminds me of Pokémon which is great!I do enjoy the flexibility that May offers when making combinations and think that all of your choices flow nicely. These are my favorites from the list, however:
May Susanna
May Dorothy
May Renata
May Cecily
May Clarice
May Clarissa
May Lavinia
May Cornelia
May SibyllaIn order to honor your parents, may I suggest some more combination ideas?
Amity Lenore
Amora Drusilla
Valerie Amanda (I like this combination, because I find it gorgeous. However, I think that it makes a sweet tribute to your parents, with Valerie's "strength" and Amanda's "love". It also includes both of your parent's first names!)

Seems like a stretch to be honest but in my mind only the actual name, other language variants and direct derivatives (Juliana for Julie) count for honoring purposes.I like Clarissa, Susanna and Renata best as middle names.
I think there are better alternatives to Amy than May. May makes me think a dyslexic person tried to do the honoring and made a mistake 😅 Am- beginning names make more sense to me. Amethyst? Amaryllis?
I would have never guessed that it was to honor Amy. Aside from the letters and length, they seem very different. It's not something that I would do, but it's clever.
I really like this idea. Amy is a sweet name, but May is more "you" for sure. I personally love the name May, it's pure Edwardian elegance, very refreshing and light. As usual you have so many amazing combos. May Winifred, May Rosamund, and May Rosalind are particularly wonderful. May Leonora is fantastic, that's too perfect!May Violetta is amazing as well.
I think it's a nice tribute. You could use your mom's middle name as well. From your list I like:
May Leonora
May Winifred
May Lavinia
May Susanna
May Renata
May Sibylla
My mom’s middle name is, weirdly, Drew.
May Drusilla would be a fun idea then!
Oh yeah, that's a great combo!
It's sweet, old-fashioned, and springlike, and definitely more exciting and fresh as a first name than as a middle name. But I get why it's usually a middle name. It - and other one syllable names, unless they end with a sharp consonant - are difficult to pair with a middle name. Especially since every combo will inevitably sound like a question - may Susan have another slice of cake? But I think it's a sweet way to honour an Amy, and from your combos, I like:May Leonora
May Dorothy
May Lavinia
May Cecily

I have a daughter Amy and it's such a beautiful name, sometimes we've called her Amy May, but May Leonora would be the best choice from your listMya is another anagram
I prefer Amy over May. I've always loved the sweet simplicity of Amy,
but May is nice. I like...May Leonora
May Carlotta
May Rosamund
May Rosalind
May Celestine
May Clarice / Clarissa
May Violetta
May Lavinia

I prefer May to Amy so I think it's an excellent idea. I think May looks better with a longer middle name that doesn't have a hanging letter like May does (the "y"). I like many of your combos but I have six favourites marked with "love".May Leonora - love
May Winifred - love
May Carlotta
May Rosamund
May Rosalind
May Dorothea - love
May Celestine
May Clarissa
May Cornelia
May Violetta
May Lavinia - love

May Renata - love
I think May is a sweet little name, I’ve loved it for years. I think it works as an alternative for Amy. May Renata is my fave combo. Very unexpected and beautiful.
