I think it might be MORE useable nowadays *because* of the song and
Dolly Parton's "national treasure" status. The song gives
Jolene meaning beyond being just a kinda dorky outdated name.
Obviously the parents of a
Jolene should be prepared for the song/Dolly Parton association. It's silly to think
Jolene is just like any other name. She probably would get some singing-at. But I don't think it would be constant. There's lots of people out there who don't know about the song or don't care. It's not a bad name.
