Matilda, Maude or Maud?
Hi !!!!I found an important figure in British history,
She is "Empress Matilda".
But I read that she can be called Maud / Maude as well...I know that the original name is the Germanic Mahthildis so I guess Matilda is the more similar...But what is the difference between Maude and Maud?
What is the more ancient?By the way...
Which variant do you prefer?
