I agree with you...
It is strange..
But in my mind is Matilda the most dated of all.
It has a very "1800s snobbish spinster" sound to me.
I dislike Maude because of final e that in this case seems too frilly.
Maud instead is youthful and charming imo...
This name is short and fresh with a lovely Medieval and aristocratic vibe.
