I love islands and Isola isn't bad, although I wouldn't use it. I once read about a Swedish girl who was named Isola after an album by Swedish rock band Kent. I think Inis, which I believe is the Gaelic word for island, would be a pretty name and could be a variant of Inez, but I think it's really pronounced IN-ish although I would prefer EE-nis.

Makes me think of that fake mob family the Isoldi's that tried to make all of us in the burgh look like thugs, morons, a terrible place, and strippers. Best fake show I ever saw. I watched the first season with my step brother in law and he had to walk out it was so bad. It's a pretty name though.

The user-submitted name Isola says that it's probably a variant of Isolda (and can be a word name from Italy also) and that it was the name of Oscar Wilde's sister.I think the similarity to Isolda can't be overlooked and it does look like an alteration of that. I don't care for it, it looks like the beginning of the word "isolation" and that bothers me. I also get a chemically vibe from iso- and -sol-.

It's pretty. What puts me off is that it sounds a bit like ebola.

I love Isola and have for a long time. I feel like it has the potential to become popular because it is beautiful, feminine, unusual, and similar to names like Isabel and Isla.

It sounds pretty enough. I thought it was a typo of Isolda at first. I do wonder when people use words from other languages and just make them into names. It's stranger than using a word from your own language that way.

Hi !!!Yes! Isola is an Italian names means 'island'.I searched on Internet...
ISTAT -istituto nazionale di statistica - (Italian National Institute of statistincs- says that from 1999 to 2014 less than 5 baby girls in year 2005 and 2008 are named Isola. So it is a unique name in Italy because of its meaning that is a common word.So...are you Italian Gracie?Byeeeee
