[Games] A Royal Congrats Sign-Up
Since no one has done one of these in a while and everyone seems to enjoy them, I decided to do one. Just your basic royal congrats with one twist: all kingdoms are part of the same world. If you want you can refer to the other kingdoms in your stories, get together with another player and work on connections between your kingdoms, or even (in later rounds) marry children to one another. For this game there will be naming rules, with some free-choice rounds sprinkled in. I will provide prompts, and stories are greatly encouraged and appreciated.
For the Sign-Up, you must decide on title [King/Queen, Emperor/Empress, Duke/Duchess, etc.] and government system [kingdom (or queendom), empire, duchy (a la Renaissance Italy), city-state, etc.]. Ruling women are absolutely allowed, as are same-sex couples in all but the official ruling couple (sorry, the need for an heir of royal blood and all that). However, mistresses and lovers will be allowed, with the degree of openness about them to suit your taste. Also, feel free to tell more about your kingdom, from describing the landscape and economy to a bit of the history: make it as detailed as you want. Give a sense of what your kingdom (or what have you) is like: is it war-like or peaceful, prosperous or poor, a world power or relatively unimportant, etc.
Rules:
1. I won't drop anyone for missing rounds this game, but it will be fairly fast-paced, so keeping up is important. If you do miss, all previous rounds must be made up at the current round.
2. Each person must have at least two middle names.
3. Ages are required, and I'll keep an example above the families so you can be sure I haven't made any mistakes when I age your families.
4. If you mention another kingdom in any important way (visit or negotiations important at least) in your story for the round, please be sure to put ATTN: that-player's-username in your subject heading so they can respond accordingly if they want.
5. Have fun, and any questions just ask!

Prompt: For this round, tell about your kingdom and its new rulers. How did they come to the throne? Were they expected to rule, or are they a surprise? Are they popular? Have they been trained in ruling or not? Was their marriage arranged or a love-match? Set it up for us!
Enjoy!

Population: 203 000
Religion: As a result of the Peace of Augsburg in 1555 when the principle of cuius regio, eius religio ("whose realm, his religion") was established the people of Saxenburg-Ausbeck are Catholics.
Labour force by occupation: agriculture: 78%, industry 20%, services 2%

There have been no declarations of war. The duchy is a prosperous agricultural state. There is only one city, the capital Saxenburg. Fürst Gregorius I (Gregorius the Strong, ruled 1524-1563) was able to unite and consolidate the duchy and turn it into one of the wealthiest duchies in the whole continent. He was followed by Gregorius II (Gregorius the Wise, ruled 1563-1601) who continued his father's work and left a peaceful and prosperous duchy to rule when Gregorius III took over the throne in 1601, only fifteen years old. Now in 1622 the people are celebrating the marriage between their good Fürst and his lovely young bride Fürstin Josephina, a noble woman from the tiny duchy of Aartingen.

Duke: Romolo Iacopo Giovanni (25)
Consort: Lucrezia Maria Maddalena (16)
Of the House of Medici, of the duchy of Urbino.
(Alternate history, much? I took your Renaissance Italy example with enthusiasm, and here the results sit, with a few recycled names. Let's pretend that Lorenzino gave his dukedom of Urbino to someone of his House. Let's also pretend that Ferrante Gonzaga has an elder sister named Lucrezia. That, and this particular moment in the congrats is set in 1518, the War of Urbino spanning from 1516-1517.)
It was not, as a rule, a very peaceful time in Urbino. Plainly speaking, instead, it was war. Lorenzo II de'Medici (also known as Lorenzino), the current Duke of Urbino, was faced with imminent threat by the recently-exiled Francesco Maria della Rovere, who wanted to regain control of the duchy. The Pope Leo X (uncle to Lorenzino) quickly responded by sending various help, but the help was also varying in quality, from fine condottieri to weak fighters and strategists sent only because of political importance. One of these helping hands was Romolo de'Medici, a native of Forlì and a relative to the Duke by the elder (deceased) Lorenzo Il Magnifico. Unlike the helpless "helpers" sent, Romolo was a brilliant strategist, showing excellent diplomacy as well as being proficient in the ways of war. It was Romolo who first recognised that their opponent is running out of money by which to pay his hired help, and he reacted accordingly, advising the Duke and the Pope to allow a treaty. The treaty was signed, della Rovere left in peace, and Lorenzino, tired of the war, gave Urbino to Romolo.
Now, while Romolo was a fine strategist and of a cold mind, he was not, by any means, experienced in politics. However, Lorenzino was insistent, and thus the position of Duke rested in young Romolo's lap.

Yep, they're all independent. The stories can interweave since all are part of the same world, but don't have to.

King Jeremy Ulric Percival James, His Royal Highness King Jeremy (21)
Of the Royal House of Stenlich, of the Kingdom of Dagda.
Elena and Jeremy met when they were children (4 & 6) when their fathers, Kings of warring empires met to discuss ways of ending the war. The two became fast friends and would accompany their fathers to every meeting the two had throughout the years. However, on the day of Elena's 12th birthday, the Kings had an argument that ended an uneasy peace treaty. Elena and Jeremy were forbidden to see each other, and didn't
for 6 years. Elena's father was getting quite old and sick and finally passed away when she was 18. She became Queen of Dagda and immediately contacted King Harold of Canaan, Jeremy's father, to try to arrange a peace agreement through marriage.
At first King Harold would only agree to peace if Elena gave up her position in Dagda and become a princess of Canaan until Jeremy took the throne and they would rule Canaan together. After some talking to Jeremy, who convinced his father that one of his brother's could successfully rule Canaan, but that Elena was the only heir to the throne of Dagda, it was agreed upon that Elena and Jeremy would rule Dagda.

Ruler: Theodore Ulysses Gregory Alan, His Royal Highness King Theodore IV (23)
Consort: Josephine Fredericka Katharine Naomi, Her Royal Highness Queen Josephine the Kind, Princess of Dokshaina (14)
Of the Royal House of Terron, of the Kingdom of Thylos
Theodore is the eldest son of King Jonathan VII and Queen Jane the Noble, so he had been raised to inherit the Kingdom from the time he could talk. He, fortunately, is a good man who seems not to have influenced by the inbreeding in his line and is quite competent about political matters and the needs of his people. He has endeared himself to the commoners and nobles alike, it helps that most of the nobles are related to him in some way, and has the makings of a better King than his Father.
Josephine is the second-youngest daughter of King Noah and Queen Bernice. Dokshaina is a very fertile country but they, the nobles especially, believe that a woman is only worth how many children she has. Josie doesn't quite know what she believes yet but she knows that she doesn't want to see her younger siblings forced to marry someone they don't know just because of political alliances.
Theo and Josie have been betrothed since her birth and Josie spent four months of the year in Thylos since she was two and they married six months after Josie turned eleven. The pair aren't in love but get along well enough and have been sharing a bedroom since Theo was crowned last year. Josie has voiced her opinion on arranged marriages and Theo agrees that forcing their children to marry someone they don't like would be wrong. She has also said that they should choose which child shows the most aptitude for ruling and crown them, which Theo is thinking about for the time being.

King Antonio Giuseppe Domenico Leonardo, His Royal Highness King Antonio (21)
Queen Consort Elisabetta Graziana Rosaria, Her Royal Highness Queen Elisabetta (17)
Of the Royal House of Calabrese, of the Kingdom of Oroterra.
Oroterra is a large, powerful Kingdom known mainly for it's fierce military successes and plentiful fields of golden wheat that keep the Kingdom prosperous. King Antonio's great-grandfather started out as a poor merchant, but with his supporters, through ruthless and scrupulous means took the throne by force. He is known throughout History for his merciless tactics and punishments and passed his aggressive ways down to his son. King Antonio's father was just as ruthless as his father and grandfather before him, and instilled those values in Antonio. Antonio is handsome, athletic, and ambitious. It seemed that he could have any girl in the Kingdom as his bride, but in an unlikely event, he fell in love with one of the beautiful young chambermaids. Elisabetta had been born to a stable boy and a chambermaid and had only known the life of a servant, unlike Antonio's life of privilege and training. He was attracted to her glossy brown curls and deep chocolate eyes, but once they took the time to get to know each other secretly, love blossomed. Despite how unlikely it seemed, Antonio promised her that they would be together in the end and true to his word, when it was time to choose a bride he rejected all of the eligible noble ladies and identified Elisabetta as the one he wanted to marry.

King Lucian Alexander Brendan (25), Lucian, King of Dellorne.
Queen Adelia Eleanor Marguerite (20), Adelia, Queen of Dellorne.
Of the Royal House of Lirlan, of the kingdom of Dellorne.
Dellorne is a small, but powerful kingdom that is known for its merchants. Though there is some agriculture, the kingdom is situated on the shore or a large ocean. Sailing men travel to other kingdoms, making much money for Dellorne.
The wealth gathered by the nobles was at first the thing that kept peace in the kingdom, however, as nobles gained more power, they sought the throne. Finally, Duke Erik of Rodan raised enough support and attempted a coup. Though the house of Lirlan stayed in power, it was not without great loss. The reigning queen, Velia, was killed in the skirmish. Velia's oldest child, Princess Ria, had already given up her chance for the throne by marrying a commoner, so Velia's son, Lucian was left to inherit.
In order to placate the rebelling nobles, Lucian married Duke Erik's youngest sister, Lady Adelia of Rodan. He and Adelia have reigned over a peaceful land for a year and they have been married happily for as long. Adelia never shared her brother's hopes for ambition.
Though Lucian had not been raised to be king, he had been educated by tutors and had always been interested in his mother's duties as Queen. While his sister Ria was less interested in royalty, Lucian was a born diplomat, who could always make peace. He does have several of his mother's old advisers in place to assist him.

Of the Royal House of Covedale, of the kingdom of Bellemar
The younger of the famous twins of Covedale, Kieran spent most of his life as the second son of King Julian and his beloved wife Queen Catherine and the shadow of the attention bestowed on his elder brother, Julian the Younger. Julian and Kieran were born on a hot summer's night with a full moon, as lucky a Covedale birth as can be remembered. The royal physicians had been expecting twins and worried for the safety of the queen and her babes. When the older twin was a hale and hearty boy, the king and his kingdom rejoiced, and when the second babe was also a boy, they could hardly contain their joy. It seemed a miracle when the Queen survived the arduous birthing of twin sons, and truly a gift from God when all three lived past the dangerous first few weeks.
In their childhoods, both boys were treated equally, and received the same stellar education and training. Julian the Younger grew into the image of his kingly father, ruggedly handsome with dark gold hair and green eyes, while Kieran looked more like their mother, with dark auburn hair, ivory skin, and dark blue eyes.

Please note
You forgot to give the royal house a name, like a last name for the family. And I wasn't intending to set this in this world, but in a fictional one. Just a note for future reference :)

KingConsort: Olbret Entidas (28)
*Siemandy: SIGH-mun-dee; Iglaia: ih-GLAY-uh; Olbret: AWL-brett; Entidas: en-TIE-dis
Of the Royal House of Tampirys, of the Kingdom of Airanka.
*Tampirys: tam-PIE-riss; Airanka: eye-RAHN-kuh
Siemandy and Olbret are both unexpected rulers. Siemandy was adopted by the previous rulers when she was three. Ever since then she and Olbret were friends. When the previous rulers passed, it was expected that their son would rule. But then he died. And so did all of their other biological children. This made many of the inhabits of Airanka very suspicious of Siemandy when she was crowned Queen of Airanka. Most of them are still suspicious, even though Siemandy has proved that she didn't set the deaths of her siblings up.

Queen Valeria Galina Theresa [21]
King Nicholas Vincent John [22]
From the Royal House of Kensington, of the kingdom of Orantillo
Valeria, known as Valli throughout her childhood, was permitted a fairly normal existence prior to her coronation. She studied international relations at the university named for her great great grandfather -- King Rudolph Joseph. It was at this university where Valli met Nick. knowing that she was the Crown Princess, Nick -- however attracted to her -- decided not to pursue her. But when they were paired together for an assignment on the economic development of a selected country their sophomore year, they started dating. Nick visited the king just before his death the year Valli graduated university to ask for his permission to marry her. His blessing was given and the couple strove for a quick marriage, fearing that King Erich would not live much longer. As her father was ruler of Orantillo, Valli knew that his death would mean her own coronation. Twelve days after her marriage, Valli was crowned Queen. And two weeks later, her father passed away. Since then, Queen Valeria and King Nicholas have been successfully running their country, while discussing the possibility of having a child to be heir to the throne.

Queen: Rosa Katarina Elizabeth Alexandra, Her Royal Highness Queen Rosa (18)
King Consort: Thaddeus Giacomo Matthias, His Royal Highness King Thaddeus (19)
Of the Royal House of Gilain, of the kingdom of Tayel.
Named for the flower symbol of the House of Gilain, Rosa has lived her entire life with the knowledge that people were watching her. As the first female Heir Apparent in the Gilain line since its founder, over a century ago, people have wondered about her, whether she will be able to fill the shoes left for her and live up to the memory of the great Katarina, the founder of the Gilain line. That was why her mother and father, the much-beloved King Alexander and Queen Consort Elizabeth, named her as she did. Rosa for the symbol of the house of Gilain, Katarina for the venereated first Gilain queen, Elizabeth, for herself, and Alexandra for her father. They thought naming her so would help the peoplesee that here was a girl meant to rule Tayel.
Rosa's upbringing was one calculated to make her a popular and good ruler. She was subject to a rigorous tutoring schedule, encouraged to play actively, given wholesome and healthy foods, taught everything that tutors could be found to teach her.

Empress: Maria Sophia Elisabeth Gisela (22)
Emperor: Philipp Maria Michael Franz (23)
Of the Royal House of Habsburg, of the Holy Roman Empire.
When old Emperor Ferdinand died suddenly without issue, he was succeeded by his young grand-nice, Archduchess Maria Sophia. Sophie, like she is called within the family, was raised by her widowed mother, Archduchess Louise, and never expected to become empress. She had a number of suiters, but eventually set her eyes on Prince Philippe d'Orléans, from the Royal House of France. The government was initially against the match (Philippe is only a grandson of a monarch, and made a living as an army liutenant), but the Empress made clear she would not marry anyone else. The young couple is popular among the people, although the political élite has doubts about their progressive and francophile inclinations.

Just a note...
I wasn't intending this game to be set in this world or to use real royalty, but if you are set on it you can certainly use it.

I only used real nationalities because I think it's simpler when it comes to picking the names. The "characters" are fictional :)
Ok
We'll just make it a different version of the empire :)
