Hi all, sorry it took me so long to get this up... things have been crazy! but here is round 2 at last.

3 years have passed.

Things have been resonably quiet in Orlais since the threat of civil war a few years back, but everyone knows that unrest is brewing just under the surface.

The war with France that was peacefully resolved some years back has left a bitter taste in many an Orlesian's mouth against the French, to the extent that a Frenchman nobleman was recently murdered in the marketplace in cold blood! The men responsible were of course arrested and are in prison, but it is only a taste of the distrust that lies between the Orlesian's and the French. Naturally, the French court was none to happy to hear of the nobleman's murder either and whispers of war are beginning to emerge again.

Amongst the turmoil however, there has been much joy as well. The daughter of Orlias's much loved Princess Juliette, Princess Elsie, spent the summer in Orlais with her mother's family, an event which they have agreed with her father to repeat every two years. Also, last year they celebrated the marriage of Princess Cecile to the French Prince Philippe, luckily that happy occasion occurred before the worst of the unrest started, though word has it that things have been rather awkward for Cecile in the french court since.

Gemma and Gus want to keep their growing family away from the turmoil within the country. They are thinking about moving to an even further distance from the city.

Leah, now one, is a strong and happy-go-lucky little girl. She looks exactly like her mother, except for her blue eyes, which come from her father. When Giovanna went to market one day with some of her weaving, along with Ella and Leah and Jemima, Leatrice was seen bounding at her top one-year-old speed down the road after a chicken. Gemma screeched, and Ella and Jemima were off down the road in a split second, soon bringing the toddling child back to her frightened mother.

Pip has his father's creamy skin, his mother's dark hair, and his paternal grandfather's hazel eyes. Pip is a quiet little boy of three, now. One day when he was in the field close to home, being watched by his mother nearby, Pip fell asleep in the dirt. When he awoke, he found himself alone and the sky darkening. The poor boy cowered, and hid himself, whimpering. Gemma was worried, and she sent Damion to retrieve her son, as she realized that she had accidentally left him in the field. Pip was quite shaken when he returned in Damion's arms, but he was quite relieved to be back home.

Jemima is twelve, and already a gorgeous young woman. She looks much like her brother Gus, with her long brown hair, her creamy skin, and her blue eyes. She is an intelligent girl and one who possesses the qualities needed to become a good mother and wife someday. She's always looking after Pip and Leah, especially when Gemma goes to market and needs to leave the children at home. She takes charge of the children whenever the need arises.

The past three years have been great for Bella and Frederick over the time the two have grown to love each other deeply and delight in the time they spend together as a family with little Julietta. Frederick and Bella also travelled to France with Julietta to see the marriage of her younger sister Cecile to Prince Philippe of France. Bella was deeply moved to see her baby sister marry the Prince Philippe and fervently wished her sister the same happiness in her union as herself and Frederick enjoyed. From France they accompanied her brother Philippe and Valentina to France making good on the promise by Frederick to allow her to visit her family in Orlais. Bella delighted in being home and spent much time with Valentina and Diana. She was greatly upset with her brother Joseph in witnessing how his treatment of Diana affected her she was however at a loss for what to do about the situation. She was grateful her brother and Valentina were there to care for Diana and her darling nephew little Joseph. Julietta spent her time in Orlais in the company of her cousins Liliane, Thibault and Joseph and four seemed to get on tremendously. While Bella also adored spending time with her adorable niece and nephews. Shortly before Bella and Frederick were due to return home Bella discovered she was once again expecting and once Frederick found out he promptly wrote home to his father to inform him we would be unable to return home presently as he didn't wish me to travel in my current condition fearing it might harm the child. Bella didn't argue the point delighted she would be able to stay in Orlais longer in the company of her family.

There have been so many positive happenings for Philippe in the last few years. His confidence has been strenghtened by the Orlesian's support of him, and so whilst he's happy to stand at Leonard's side for now, he knows that he will be ready if and when the time comes that Orlais needs more of an iron fist, than the kid gloves Leonard leads with. He was joyed by the time spent with his niece Elsie. He'd never met the daughter of his dear late sister, but spending time with Elsie reminded him so much of what Juliette had been like as a girl, and he and Elsie have a strong bond. He is much looking forward to being an important part of the girls life from here on out. Philippe and Valentina were also happy to be able to travel to France to celebrate the wedding of his youngest sister. Philippe had not realised how much he'd missed of Cecile's life, but the woman he watched walk down the aisle had little resemblance to the 13 year old girl he always remembered her as before she left for France.

In the last 3 years Philippe has spent a lot of time trying to pass on more royal duties to his younger brother, Joseph, desperately hoping that this would force him to grow up... He's been disappointed time and time again however as Joseph invariably would be late, turn up in an addled state, or just not show up at all. Philippe has had to abandon that particular plan as he's admitted that bringing Joseph into the forefront only hightened his weaknesses rather than forced him to overcome them. Philippe is so thankful to his beautiful wife, Valentina, for being such a good friend to Diana and they have both vowed to do anything they can for his brothers wife and children.

The suprising events surronding the French Noblemen Jacques Martin deeply upset Delphine and Clementine. Both natives of France fear the hostility that Orlais is displaying. The poor Monsieur Martin was in Orlais on business and while the Orlais and French courts are very different, the orlaisian people were in contempt at his behavior. Delphine removed her self from court during such trying times for her safety and for the saftey of her unborn babe.

It was at home that she gave birth with the aid of the local midwife to Stéphanie Hélène another beautiful healthy baby girl. Maelys is in love with her little sister and tries to coo the little baby asleep. Delphine has decided that court life has been to heated toward native French people and she will keep home for a while sending her sister Clementine in her place.

Things in Orlais have been getting very tense ever since the murder of a French noble in the marketplace. Mary-Agnes is happy that she and her family live in the palace, where it's safe. Henry has been frequently traveling back and forth from Orlais to England, leaving Mary-Agnes alone to her own devices. She's had many affairs with the married and unmarried men at Court. After she gave birth to Jocelyn, it seemed that Prince Joseph lost interest in Mary-Agnes. She set her sights on a new Royal target: Prince Philippe. She knew it would be difficult, as he was actually in love with his wife, but she gave it a try anyway. Of course, she was rejected immediately. However, it didn't ruin her confidence as she was seen leaving the bedchamber of one of the Royal Guards. A few weeks later, Mary-Agnes discovered she was pregnant. This time, she had absolutely no clue who the father is but it is very evident that Henry is not the father as the baby has bright red hair.

Mary-Agnes has been growing extremely unpopular at Court. She has a close circle of friends whom she loves to gossip with, but no one else wants anything to do with the flighty young lady.

Benedicte and Daphne are unhappy about the unrest, but have been very busy with a new little mouth to feed. Gabrielle is an adorable little baby, and her big brother Edmond is very jealous of her, though he loves playing with her when her parents aren't around.

Joseph seemed to be resisting change at every opporunity. Diana knew that Joseph's brothers and sisters were disgusted and frustrated with his behavior. Soon however, Diana discovered she was pregnant again. She was overjoyed to be carrying another child, but was discouraged when Joseph barely even reacted to the news.She enjoyed talking with Elisabeth and Valentina who were also pregnant.
In honor of all the new editions to the Royal Family, a jousting tournament was held. The whole Royal Family, and most of the Nobles of Orlais were in attendance. Diana was thrilled at first, because not only had Joseph shown up, but he was sober too. Joseph competed great, winning the first few rounds. However, he got too confident during one of the rounds and didn't secure his armor properly. That round ended disasterous, Joseph had taken a blow to the chest and was knocked unconscious off his horse. He was taken immediately to the Royal Physician, who pronounced him in critical condition. Even though she did not love him, due to her being in the third trimester of pregnancy, the stress of the incident sent Diana into premature labor. It was a very difficult labor, one that the doctors weren't sure Diana or the baby would survive. For a while it seemed that Joseph, Diana, and the unborn child would all be lost. Thirteen hours later, Diana gave birth to a healthy baby girl. The doctor said Diana would need at least a month of bed rest to recover from the difficult labor, but both the child and mother would live. While Diana was giving birth, the physicians worked tirelessly to get Joseph back to a stable condition. A few hours before the baby was delivered, they succeeded. Joseph would need to remain on bedrest and in the care of a physician at all times for at least four months, but he too would live.
