Kuba and Luci adopted a human newborn because of their wanting for their child to have a normal human life and not have to worry about the hunger getting in the way of every event they came to in his life.
But deciding to adopt a human baby was difficult because they felt that as much as they can relate to him they are still vampires and can never understand what it is like for him to grow up and stay human.
Because of this they decided they needed to adopt two babies. Jasper and Celeste were born into a poor young student that Jakub had been mentoring. She is really passionate in her studies and her babies would have made her have to give up school altogether because she could barely make ends meet as it was. After Jakub learned about her situation and that she had no contact with her ex-boyfriend the father he spoke to Lucienne immediately and they decided it was the perfect opportunity for them. They keep in contact with the mother Whitney.
They decided that the choice was theirs to change or not but they need to be sure the don't want to live as a humans.
They are very happy with their babies and Luci has changed from working all days to only working her five days a week while Jakub has taken on a couple of TA's so he isn't only home when their asleep.
