It's been quite a year in the Royal House of Deveraux and in the Kingdom of Westergate. Firstly, Princess Emmeline and her husband, Crown Prince of Sparovas, Kasper's son Jonas thankfully has made it to his first birthday after a grueling year of uncertainty that he would make it. He is now a bouncing baby boy full of life.
Secondly, two of the King's children, Princess Amelia and Prince Henry, have gotten engaged.
Prince Amelia has kept to her arranged marriage to Gabriel Simon Basil, Crown Prince of Northden, for they have been childhood friends since an alliance between the two kingdoms. They both seem to be happily in love and excited to marry. The King of Westergate is joyous of this union; however, as a parent, are sadden to see another child leave the flock.
Prince Henry on the other hand has created some serious issues for the kingdom. Unlike his sister, Prince Henry has refused to marry his arranged wife, Josephine Mary Catherine, Princess of Eriden. This arranged marriage has been planned since Prince Henry's birth, as it would create a very needed alliance between the two kingdoms. King John has warned his son, if he does not marry Princess Josephine, he would loose this throne and his place as the future King of Westergate. Prince Henry continued to refuse the arranged marriage to the Princess, and the King finally removed Prince Henry from his throne, which now commits Prince Ari as the new Crowned Prince of Westergate, at the ripe age of 13. However, the person Henry wanted to marry wasn't a bad choice at all. And who did Prince Henry do this for? He name is Anne and she is the daughter of a the kingdom's Chamberlain. While King and the Chamberlain had a good relationship, neither wanted the marriage to happen: The King for his obvious reasons and the Chamberlain thought Henry wasn't an acceptable suitor because of his continuous disloyal attitude. Nevertheless, the two father's accepted the union since the two have been together for 5 years and seemed genuinely in love.
After this unwanted issue, a more serious problem occured: Princess Gemma fell deathly ill with consumption. Unfortunately, in following weeks, the Princess' condition worsened and she has sadly passed away at the age of 13.
