So beautiful. It is just such an intriguing name. So pretty. I like this and Zahra both. Something about this name sounds so pretty and cute. I love this name. 10/10.
Kids who have names that start with a Z get teased and bullied relentlessly by their classmates. Never give your child a name that starts with this letter. They will hate it and they will hate you for giving it to them. They might even change their name like I did.

My dear daughter’s name is Zara Amenah. When she was in my stomach, her father actually called her Amenah. I thought of it as Amina but he said in his country Turkey Amina means something like private parts?! Can’t remember exactly. Amina was the name of the Prophet Muhammad’s mother, peace be on him and peace on his mother too. I had to eventually change Amina to Amenah to please him but guess what? I was being bothered excessively about naming our daughter. It was exhausting. I remember my mother, God comfort her beautiful soul, also wanted to name my son Zakee (he writes Zak as an adult now) since my grandmother named me Jane. (I would’ve been an ugly Nancy) So, I thought of Sarah or Sara but I felt like there were so many Sarahs so when I stumbled upon Zara, of course the Zara store reminded me of it too, I told my husband Omer that Zara sounds better and I researched and somehow found that in Turkey there is a place called Zara right in or next to my husband’s place of birth in Sivas. That was it, my mother listened to how happy my husband was that we found the perfect name for our daughter. He immediately wanted Zara. He pronounces it in an accented way almost rolling the r or something. Funny! I have heard people mispronounce her name. I hate when they say Zahra or Zaara. I like it sounding like Sara but with a Z! So, my 15 1/2 year old is Zara Amenah. Thanks be to God for my son and daughter. I love them so much. Also, the Zara store sells clothing and perfume with my daughter’s name on it and I love that! Many birthdays I have bought her shirts that say her name on them or scarves with her name all over it. One shirt had cats on each letter of her name. That was sooo adorable. I have one shirt I wear that says I love Zara on it. Superb! Whoever is saying Zara is an ugly name is crazy! Zara is an Arabic/Muslim name but it is also used in Hebrew and other countries of course. I have learned it means many things like: princess in Arabic, the brightness of dawn in Hebrew, flower in Swahili. It means glorious and one who laughs. Also: flower. People spell it like this too: Zahra (Arabic), Zaira (English, Arabic), Zahira or Zahirita (Spanish).
Ugh. I don't like it. Overwrought and harsh sounding. Reminds me of being stranded in the tundra far away from everything I love and hold dear... (Or at least, how I imagine it would feel). Thinking of this name, I can just feel the bitterly cold winds sweeping across my face. Don't mind me, just making my way to the ice fortress that is Zara. No.
I love this name. It's unique, pretty, cultural... I just love it. But then Zara Dearborn came along, and my immense love for The Shadowhunters Chronicles puts me off from liking this name. I'm really conflicted on it now. But I feel like it could be a nice nickname for any of the Sara names (though Zara is pronounced with a short a, not like Sarah), like Sarina.
This is one of my favorite Z names, along with Ziva. I think it is beautiful. It is modern yet old fashioned. It's a pretty name for a little girl, yet sounds great on a grown woman.
Zara is a beautiful name and people with this name have a charming personality. Passion of people with this name is "To live their dreams and turn fantasies into realities".

I don't like this name. There's something about the sound of it that makes it sound stupid, weird and ugly.

A beautiful, delectable name - almost irresistible. I have just heard of a newborn Jewish baby with this name. I assumed that her Hebrew name would be Sarah but in fact it's Zahava. I also know a sibset called Leora, Zara and Adina.

I know it's a clothing label popular in Europe. I guess it's a cool name.
I've liked this name since I was a child - to me it seems very pretty, cool and exotic-sounding, without being difficult to spell or pronounce. Like Sara, but with a more modern twist. I don't associate Zara with the clothing brand, because I knew people called it long before I'd heard of the brand. However, unfortunately Zara is a bit too overused for my tastes. I know many Zaras, and that would put me off using the name myself. But Ciara and Sara are way more common than it and I still would use them. It's just there are some names I mind being popular and others I love regardless.

To me this is a bit of a "guilty pleasure" name - it seems slightly too spectacular and exotic for everyday life. However it's currently a Top 40 name in Australia, so obviously other people don't feel the same way.
Zara is a beautiful name. It makes me think of a girl who is short in stature, but full of spice, and witty comebacks. A girl who has a short temper and is very athletic. Zara seems to be really close to Zora which is really close to Zorro. So whenever I think Zara I also think black curly hair.
Zara is a beautiful name! It's elegant, unique and has an element of mystery about it. I named my darling daughter Zara as she was born in the morning. I felt like she was my "radiant dawn" (and she still is!). Whenever I tell people her name, they all comment on how regal it sounds. "Zara" the name has been around much longer than the actual high-chain store! So it does seem a bit funny that some people only recognize it in conjuction with the retail shop!

My name is Zara, I think it's a great name because I don't know anyone else with this name. So if somebody calls me 10 people don't look up to see if they are being spoken to. Also it suits me, it's individual, it gives an impression of a mystic or clairvoyant. I read that it originates from Hebrew meaning 'as bright as the dawn', also read somewhere else it means 'flower' in Arabic. I met a Turkish guy once who asked me if I have Turkish family, because it's popular there. I like the fact that its very uncommon and want it to stay that way!
