Yuri 1

This is way uncooler than the original feminine name "Yuri", I simply hate this name.

I am shocked a bit to know Yuri comes from George not Julius. How come George turns to Yuri?

It’s such a shame that this name is related to the manga genre cause it’s actually quite a nice name :(

I think this name is really cool, it has a lot of personality and reminds me of the hit film Space Buddies where the cosmonaut from Russia is called Yuri. I really like that film, it has talking dogs in it.

Reminds me too much of Yuri Manga.

As much as I love the name, I agree that it reminds me of the lesbian genre of manga a bit too much for me to ever recommend using it. Perhaps as a middle name, it could work better.

I prefer Yuri over Yuriy for a name.

Be careful with this one -- "Yuri" is slang for often rather R-rated lesbian manga and anime (a term used primarily in the US rather than in Japan). I love the name Yuri, but personally I wouldn't use it for the above reason.

In my opinion, a very masculine name for a boy, with this pronunciation. I'd love to name my kid Yury (because it looks more masculine), but I fear people would still think it sounded girly.

Very nice name, I love it! I believe there is also a Korean name Yuri, as in Yuri, the son of Jumong who founded Goguryeo.

I think this is an interesting name. My brother has a friend called Yuri. His friend Yuri tells him it's the Russian form of "John."
