I first saw this name in the movie Ostrov. I wonder how commonly used it is these days by Russians because I think it's a beautiful name for a man. And I prefer the meaning "he who is quiet" over "hitting the mark" haha.

Actually this name is an old Slavic name that literally means "he who is quiet". It can also be interpreted as meaning someone who is modest and humble in personality. It has nothing to do with any Greek name. Tikhon is pronounced as teeh on. No k sound only h.
