In the musical Ride the Cyclone, Talia is Mischa's love and there is a song titled "Talia" about his love for her. However, Talia is short for Natalia in the show.

Is this known to be a predominately Jewish name? I never heard it before. Very nice.

Talia Balsam is an American TV and film actress. She is the daughter of film actor Martin Balsam and actress Joyce Van Patten. She was formerly married to George Clooney, and is currently married to John Slattery.
Love the name because it's so unique. Not Thalia, Natalia or Natalie just Talia which has nice nicknames like Tally, Lia, one that might not be the best is Tails but it's still a really cute nickname.
Talia Parra from the American telenovela-formatted teen sitcom 'Talia in the Kitchen' from Nickelodeon is a bearer of this name. Wow. I hated my name, Talia, growing up because of it being so different. But I love it and appreciate it now. Still, people call me Tal-ee-a or even Natalia and often spell it Thalia. I'm asked if I'm Mexican because people know of the singer. I answer to it all. It feels good to see so many compliments to the name that caused me so much childhood stress.

Talia is the mother of Damian Wayne and the wife of Batman. She's pretty awesome, even though she's a bad guy. I love this name because it sounds pretty to me, and I think it means "golden dew from heaven".
The name Talia is so beautiful and the meaning is so blessed. :') Talia is one of my FAVE girl names beginning with T. (Other girl names I recommend are: Tiana, Tegan, Tanya & Tia.)

I am infuriated when people spell my name like this. I don't have anything to complain of it, I like it! But it's not my name, my name is Tahlia. I was confused about whether this spelling is "Ta-lee-ah" or "t-ah-lee-ah". Turns out the second one is most common, but I like (for this spelling) the first one because Tahlia really is the one with the dragged out "Tahhhh". Anyway, I love both spellings ("Tah"'s my favorite!)
There's Talia and then Talia with an accent. Don't mistake it, they get mad! Talia is fast. TALLia. And then Talia (with the accent on the I!) tahhlia or tuhlia. I prefer this one.
My friend who is Italian-Mexican is named Talia, and is pronounced Tah-lee-ah. She was named after Italy or Italia, since it's where her family descends from.

Talia- Hebrew- Dew from HeavenAlso related to Thalia: From the Greek Èáëåéá (Thaleia), derived from èáëëù (thallo) meaning "to blossom". In Greek mythology she was one of the nine Muses, the muse of comedy and pastoral poetry. This was also the name of one of the three Graces or ×áñéôåò (Charites).

I heard Talia is also related to Thalia. So Talia has the meaning of Dew from Heaven but also a Greek Muse. Of course I heard it meant a little lamb which is a baby Sheep. So I believe it is a beautiful name. It has multiple meanings depending on your origin. But I do believe the main meaning is Dew from Heaven.

Talia can also be the Italian form of Thalia - perhaps that should be added in the database as Talia (2).
I have seen several pronunciations: Tal-Eee-Ah and other spellings for it being Taliea and Taliyah or the pronunciation TAL-ya. Then there is the name Talieya and pronounced Ta-Lee-Ah.
"Tal" means dew and "ia" is the shorthand for "God" in the Bible. Talia means "God's Dew" in Hebrew. It means a "female sheep" in Arabic. It is also one of the names of the Greek Muses.
