My friend's dad is named Steve and he is a very adventurous person and is not dull or boring at all. Also, is no one else thinking Steve Harrington? Because you should.

Stephen Patrick “Steve” Mackey (10 November 1966 – 2 March 2023) was an English musician and record producer best known as the bass guitarist for the alternative rock band Pulp, which he joined in 1989.
It's interesting to know this in itself is a name alone. I primarily go by it socially but my formal isn't the "V" variant but the "ph" model which is socialized ambiguously as it should be because the short could be Steve or Steph. https://babynames.net/names/stephen
Steve Byrne is an American stand-up comedian and actor of Irish and Korean descent. He is best known from his multiple stand up comedy hour specials, creating, writing and starring in Sullivan & Son and as the writer/director of the feature film The Opening Act.
Steve is a great name, there have been many great Steves in entertainment and music, Steve Harvey, Steve Winwood, Steve Perry, even Stephen Colbert occasionally calls himself “Steve Colbert”. Then of course there’s the great 49ers QB Steve Young. It rolls off the tongue nicely and sounds a bit less formal than Stephen / Steven (which is also a good name). Cool name for a guy. I don’t really see why this name has negative connotations, it seems like some folks think that any name that was popular in the mid 20th century must somehow be boring or irrelevant nowadays.
Steven "Steve" Aoki, Japanese DJ and electronic music producer. He used to get bullied when he was young but now he is a successful musician who is admired by millions of people, has inspired many to start making music and who does what he loves and I'm happy about him doing good now. He also seems really humble, smart and polite in real life but he's extremely eccentric on stage.

I think it's a good hiding name for Us bearing the spelling STEPHEN taught to pronounce it 'STEEV-en' because of the other version 'STEF-en' which Me or others don't appreciate. STEPHAN is majority of times pronounced "STEF-an' but I have know some for instances it's pronounced 'STEEV-an' In Gaelic influenced Britain the 'PH' became voiced like a 'V' because of the other consonant "uni-letter' couples 'BH' and "MH" voicing a "V" sound.
Every time I look at this name I think about Steven Q. Urkel on Family Matters so I don't like it. But I have to admit it's a very good name but if you have twins don't name them Adam and Steve. They are going to be picked on for the rest of their lives.
Personally, I think that "Steve" ("Steven") needs to make a rebirth. It is widely viewed as a name suited for men who have passed the 40-year line... but what people do not see, is the utterly endearing nature it plays when placed on a young child or a teenager male. It has plenty of room to grow; it is professional, it is attractive.Such a splendid refreshment.
Steve Wilkos, the former head of security on the Jerry Springer Show, and now host of his own show (which I hope finally gets canceled soon, since he acts like such an out of control overgrown bully on it).
Another famous bearer is actor Steve Valentine. He is probably most well know for being the host of 'Estate of Panic' and for playing Dr. Nigel Townsend on the show 'Crossing Jordan'.
Steve Perry is the former lead singer of the rock band Journey. Steve Smith is the former drummer for Journey. Steve Augeri is also a former lead singer for Journey.
A famous bearer of this name is the late Steve Irwin (22/2/62 - 4/9/06). Nicknamed "the Crocodile Hunter". Steve was really passionate and enthusiastic about his work. He and his wife Terri owned and operated the Australia Zoo in Beerwah, Queensland. Irwin was fatally pierced in the chest by a stingray barb just after 11:00 a.m. (AEST) 4th September 2006. A great loss to conservation and Australia. RIP.
