There are different variants of the name, SAKINAH, SUKINA, SUKAYNA and lots more, widely used in the Arab world. Derived from the "sukun" meaning peace, calmness, tranquility. It is related to the Hebrew word "shekinah" which is feminine and an abstract noun meaning the presence of God in the world. It was also the name of a great grand daughter of the Prophet Mohammed, she is highly revered by Muslims.
It can also be used in Japanese.

In a dream-like Bollywood movie "Saawariya" the other main character is called Sakina.
