In medieval times, Philippe was also used as a feminine given name in French (as the French form of Philippa), alongside Philippine. However, Philippe is a masculine given name today. So, I think that the "Gender" of this name should be updated from "Masculine" to "Masculine & Feminine"; and the "Meaning & History" section of this name should be updated to read, "French form of Philip. In medieval times, Philippe was also the French form of Philippa."Sources: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_name https://www.behindthename.com/name/philippe/top/france https://forebears.io/forenames/philippe

I know a boy named Philippe and he pronounces his name like "Phillip". He is also German, not French. I'm not sure if France is the only type of origin for this name.I think that the French way to spell Phillip is a little annoying and it seems like the parents are trying too hard. And if you are going to have your name spelled "Philippe" PLEASE pronounce it the correct way!
