Meaning & History
Medieval Limburgish short form of Paschalis and Paschasius. It was in use until at least the 18th century, and had become obsolete by the 20th century.Today, the name still survives in several patronymic surnames, most of which remain primarily prevalent in the Limburgish language area. Of these, the surname Peusens is the most common, both in Belgian Limburg and Dutch Limburg. The second place goes to Peusen in Dutch Limburg, and Peuskens in Belgian Limburg.
