Meaning & History
From Egyptian pꜣ-mn meaning "he of Min", derived from the masculine possessive prefix pꜣ "the aforementioned, the, he of" combined with the name of the god Min. Alternatively, it can also derive from the demotic writing of a word meaning "so-and-so", used to replace personal names in model documents.
