Meaning & History
Form of Azriel used in the Douay-Rheims Bible (1582-1610) and the Clementine Vulgate (1592). The latter was the official Bible of the Roman Catholic Church for nearly four centuries: from the year it was published until 1979.Please note that in both Bibles, the form Ozriel only appears in verse 27:19 of 1 Chronicles. In other verses, either Esriel or Ezriel is used.Lastly, in the Septuagint (Greek Old Testament) Ozriel occurs only in verse 12:7 of 1 Chronicles, where it is a form of Azarel.
