I had a beloved great aunt named Myrna, who was born in 1940 - so there's a good chance the actress Myrna Loy could've had an influence on her name. Growing up, despite my love for my aunt, I thought Myrna was an "old lady" name because any Myrna I came across seemed to be her age as well (pretty much a flash-in-the-pan Silent Generation name). Now, however, I find it quite charming.

It's a pretty name. It makes me think of the color green and I love how it means "festive".
I hate this name. My grandmother's mother was reading a magazine in the hospital bed that featured Myrna Loy, and she decided she'd name her Myrna Lou, replacing the y with a u. Wouldn't use it unless it was Marina. Close enough, I guess.
