Meaning & History

Derived from the Japanese kanji 瑞 (mizu) meaning "felicitous omen, auspicious, congratulations" and 子 (ko) meaning "child". The name is not generally written with the kanji 水子 (mizuko), meaning "water child", due to the combination also meaning a stillborn baby.

Other characters combinations are also possible.
