Lovely name, it just feels a bit of a shame that it starts with mad :/ - idk i feel like ppl might get bullied a lil over that ¯\_(ツ)_/¯, it's still nice tho.

I like it as a nickname, especially for Maddalena.
I love this name! I actually have a cousin named Maddison, and we call her Maddie. Maddie is a great nickname for names like Madison/Maddison or Madeline/Madelynn. It's a great name for dogs as well, my friend has a dog named Maddie!💕.
I love this name! It is my nickname for Madeleine. For the most part, Maddie has always been a nickname for other baby names, like Madeline or Madison. However, many new parents are choosing to use it as a given name on its own. It's cute, sweet, fun and full of personality. I see so many hateful comments about this name calling it a spoiled childish name, but it really isn't. There is nothing bratty about this name unless you pair it with a bratty girl.
I’m a Hannah, but because I hate being called Hannah Banana, as well as how I like the fact I’ll be the pampered young one out of everyone when I walk at graduation for university next year as the Class of May 2020 for University, I am Maddie.
Maddie is wonderful as a nickname for Madelyn or Madison. Madeline and Madeleine are also okay, but I prefer Madelyn and Madison. I would recommend it!
You guys are a bunch of haters! I see absolutely nothing wrong with this name. I don’t know what you guys see, but this is a beautiful name and everyone should know it!

Madison and Madeline, Madeleine are nice. But I don't like Maddie. It feels 90s dated and tired and way too immature.

I agree that the aforementioned name is childish, so I advise to use it as a nickname for Madeline.
I hate this name. First of all it is terrible for a grown up and really anyone. If I hear someone say the name "Maddie" one more freaking time, I will burn my head off.
This name is cute. I would use it as a nickname for Madeleine but I’ve met a lot of Maddie’s with different personalities so I guess that doesn’t throw me off the name that much.
Hello, I will be writing down my personal feelings about the name “Maddie”. If you are offended easily (which is almost everyone on this site!) then I’d recommend not reading. Anyway - This is one of those names that I hate with a burning passion. It’s ugly, trashy, and childish. Even Madison is better than this atrocious mess. If your name is Maddie, then I am so sorry, you deserve so much better. Especially If you don’t have a more mature name like Madeleine to fall back on when you’re older. Very unfortunate if you ask me.
My name is Madeline and everyone calls me Maddie. I really like it. I don’t like Madeline and I always wish my name is Madison. Maddie is nice even if it sounds like someone who’s mad.
This nickname is extremely common. I hear Maddies being called everywhere by parents and friends, and almost every name I hear is Maddie. It’s crazy! It's a cute nickname, just very overused.
Madison “Maddie” Nicole Ziegler is a dancer and actress. She is known for “Dance Moms” and the critically acclaimed Sia videos which include “Chandelier”, “Elastic Heart”, “Big girls cry”, “Cheap Thrills” And “The Greatest”.

I know a couple Maddie's, and to used to think it was a popular name, but it is not so much anymore. They all pronounce it "Mad-ee".
My girlfriend's name is Madeline, and I call her Maddie as a nickname. I've always thought of Madeline as a beautiful, intelligent name and Maddie as a nerdy and adorable nickname, even before I met my girlfriend. All I have is good associations with these names, so I like them.

My name is Maddison AKA Maddie. Personally I think it’s a great name and my friends have always called me Maddie. I don’t see what you all have against it.

My name is Madisen and my nickname is Maddie and I found out that Madisen means son of Matthew, and Matthew means gift of God so anyone who's name is Madisen or Madison who cares, is a gift of God,

My friend's legal name is Maddie and we both find it quite annoying when people immediately think the name is just a nickname or shortage of the name Madeline. I've also met many other people with the name but with different spellings like 'Maddy' or 'Maddi'.
Really, really hate this nickname, mainly because all the Madisons I've met have used this nickname and they were all some of the most irritating people I've ever met. I don't like the name Madison at all, but if you're going to use a nickname for Madeline or Madalena or something, might I suggest Lyn or Lena?
I've loved the name Maddie for a long time but after a while is gets kind of annoying because it's used a lot. But I think most Maddies have good talents.
Yeah, not a big fan on Maddie/Maddy (or those god awful "kreeativ" spellings like madi or maddi that ten year old girls make up for themselves) because if you think about it, how many people over the age of sixteen use this name? I love Madeline/Madeleine, but I would never use Maddie as a nickname because people might assume her name is Madison, which I loathe! I prefer Addie, Ellie, or Linnie as a nickname instead, Maddie doesn't even sound sweet or cute, and will become dated, just as Madison will, when she is a forty year old and the only options she has are Madison or Maddie.

I love this name! Plus is the name of my favorite person Maddie Ziegler!
I hate the trendiness and overuse of this unflattering-sounding nickname. It makes the overused Madison ever worse. Maddie sounds like a name for someone who's mad all of the time. This name has also always made me think of a Blue Meanie from the Yellow Submarine movie.
This is the nickname of a friend of mine, Maddie. It's short for Madeline, and whilst I think that it's okay for Madison as well, it suits them both equally.

This is a good nickname for someone who is mad all the time.
In the series A History Mystery, by David Mark Lopez, starting with the book Walk Like an Egyptian, the main characters name is Maddie. Also on the Suite Life of Zack and Cody, Ashley Tisdale plays Madiline (Maddie) Fitzpatrick.

My nickname has now changed spelling again back to Madi. I prefer it to Maddie, because I just like the spelling. Short, quick and easy. Plus it sort-of shuts those Anti-Madison people up. And I always kinda wanted a four letter name.
Maddy was the original name of the princess in the upcoming Disney movie "The Frog Princess". Her new name is Tiana.

My name's Madison, and I use this for my nickname. I used to like Madi for my nickname, but my friend recently tagged Maddie on me and I definitely like it better. Now, all my friends call me that.
My name is Madison, and I am nicknamed Maddie, but I spell it differently. I was bored of everyone using it, so now I am Maddey. Everyone says it looks different, but I'm 12 and not that good at making up nicknames yet! I've gone through loads of variations; Maddi, Madi, Maddie, Mady, Maddy and now Maddey.
I've known about seven Madeline's and three Madison's and only three out of the ten used the nickname Maddie. Actually, one of the Madison's used Maddi. For some reason, I find the nickname a bit annoying.
