Meaning & History
More modern form of Leyn, but the name is still quite archaic, even though it has barely survived into modern times. In 2010, there were less than 60 bearers in all of The Netherlands. The real modern form is Lein, of which there were four times as many bearers in 2010. A known bearer of this name is Leijn Loevesijn (b. 1949), a Dutch track cyclist who won a silver medal at the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City (in the men's tandem race competition).
