I understand Judy as a nickname for Judith, but not as a name in its own right.

My name is Judy. Growing up I hated my name. I felt it was old school. As I have gotten older, I realize the name is now unique and refreshing. It's a name parents can now start another generation with to ensure the name continues. Judy means praised.
Sounds adorable, right? A good nickname for Judith, though as a standalone name it's not bad either. Truth is, I don't hear it often, it seems to be one of those old-fashioned names that haven't made a comeback, even though I'm seeing in the comments that people like it. I hope to hear it more often in the future!
This is my nickname and I love it! FYI, I am 21 years old!

The green banner helps with the Wizard of Oz vibes. The Emerald City? Also, Judy Garland played Dorothy Gale, the main character in the Wizard of Oz. Judy Garland died in 1969. I wouldn't use this name, but I like its association. :)
Fantastic! Very classy in sound. Especially if used as a diminutive for "Judith," or a similar name.

Although this name was cute on Judy Garland it reminds me of Punch and Judy - The Punch and Judy show. I think they were puppets and as a child I didn't like puppet shows.
