Meaning uncertain, likely a modern invented name based on the sounds found in names such as Jazelle and Azaria. The spelling might be influenced by that of biblical names (for example, Jahaziel, Jahdiel or Jahzeel; also compare Jahziel).

Though many baby name sites and books list this as an Ethiopian name meaning something along the lines of 'blessed princess' or 'blessed with power and wealth', this is probably incorrect; no words in Amharic (the Ethiopian language) with those meanings, or words similar to those meanings, match up to Jahzara or anything similar to it. The biblical name Sarah, which is similar to Zara, means 'princess' in Hebrew.
